The unique ingredients of Mommytoo

Zinc

Zinc is the second most common trace mineral in the human body. Zinc is involved in a large variety of metabolic processes, accelerates the regeneration of connective tissues and the healing of wounds. It contributes to maintaining the normal condition of hair, skin and nails.

Leucine

Leucine is an essential amino acid (cannot be made by the body, it must come from food). Leucine is the only nutritional amino acid capable of stimulating the synthesis of muscle proteins. It enhances regeneration and prevents muscle tissue from degradation.

Omega-3 fatty acid

Omega-3 fatty acid is able to increase the production of muscle proteins, thereby enhancing muscle strength. They are beneficial both for the baby and the mother. After birth, they are important for babies in visual as well as mental development. Mommytoo contains both DHA and EPA omega fatty acids.

Postnatal vitamin

In addition to the above ingredients, Mommytoo also includes a complete postnatal vitamin tablet containing 12 different vitamins and 8 types of minerals / trace elements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Mommytoo and prenatal/postnatal vitamins?

Prenatal and postnatal vitamins contain vitamins and trace elements needed for pregnancy, breastfeeding and infant development. The components of Mommytoo – while also supporting breastfeeding and the infant – specifically support the regeneration of pelvic muscles that are damaged during delivery.

What are the consequences of pelvic muscle injury?

Incontinence (urinary and fecal), prolapse of the pelvic organs (bulge and pressure sensation in the vagina) and sexual dysfunction (like sensation of a loose vagina) are a direct consequence of injury or weakening of the muscles supporting the pelvic organs, which often happens during delivery.

Who should take Mommytoo?

We recommend Mommytoo to all new mothers after giving birth. It is especially recommended for women who have experienced the weakening of pelvic muscles after previous deliveries (sagging of the pelvic floor, sinking of the pelvic organs, incontinence) and those who have a family history for these conditions.

What are the ingredients of Mommytoo?

A daily dose of Mommytoo contains six capsules and one tablet: 2 pieces of omega-3 soft gelatin capsules, 4 pieces of leucine capsules and one multivitamin tablet. The multivitamin tablet contains 12 different vitamins and 8 kind of minerals / trace elements.

When should I start taking Mommytoo?

As soon as possible after delivery.

Can I start taking Mommytoo during my pregnancy?

Mommytoo specifically supports the regeneration of muscular injuries occurring during childbirth. Although it does not contain any ingredients that may be harmful during pregnancy, no separate studies have been performed on the use of Mommytoo before giving birth, therefore we do not recommend it to pregnant women.

How long should I continue taking Mommytoo?

The most critical phase of maternal recovery is the first year after delivery, so you should continue taking it for 12 months after giving birth.

How and when should I take Mommytoo?

We recommend taking the capsules after a meal. The tablets can be taken at any time during the day, even at different times.

Do I need to take other vitamins or nutritional supplements while taking Mommytoo?

It is not necessary as Mommytoo contains a complete postnatal vitamin complex based on the recommendations of the US National Institute of Health.

Does Mommytoo contain sugar, gluten, lactose, dairy, starch, corn or wheat?

No, Mommytoo contains none of the above.

Can Mommytoo trigger any allergic reaction?

We have not experienced this during the clinical research and have not had any reports from existing customers (we ask for this regularly in post sales surveys). However if you are sensitive to any of its ingredients, you should not to take Mommytoo.
